Orval A. Martinson

Orval A. Martinson, 88, died on June 9, 2010 at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
 
Mr. Martinson was born March 20, 1922 in Wheeler, Wisconsin to Arthur and Vera Zeeman Martinson. He married Marie A. Baum on September 3, 1950; she died February 17, 2010.
 
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Kizer, of Beaverdam; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Rose) Martinson, William (Joyce) Martinson, Robert (Carole) Martinson, Richard (Donna) Martinson, of all Wisonsin; sister, Shirley (Harold) Glaser, Velma Beever, Ethel (Charles) Keller, Gloria (Gary) Hanson, all of Wisconsin.
 
He was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Jr. and George Martinson; sister, Halene Stillman.
 
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 19, at 12 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam. Pastor Michael Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Thelma Joyce Sharrock

Thelma Joyce Sharrock, 85, of Bluffton, formerly of Ada, died June 10, 2010 at Mennonite Memorial Home.
 
Mrs. Sharrock was born July 27, 1924 to Raymond and Gayle (Geese) Richmond in Orange, Ohio. She married Robert Sharrock on August 7, 1943 and he died September 7, 1988.
 
She was a 1942 graduate of West Lafayette High School, Ohio. She worked for IBM in San Francisco where her husband was stationed before being deployed in WWII. Upon his return in Ohio, they bought the Sohio station in West Lafayette, Ohio and was a bookkeeper. After the station was sold, they bought and she ran the skating rink in Newcomerstown, Ohio for several years. After moving to Ada in 1971, she owned and operated a craft shop, “The Something Special Shop” located in her home. She was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. She was 50 year member of Eastern Star. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, crafts, and the beauty of flowers.
 
Survivors include a daughter, Cassandra (Gary) Hull, of Ada; son, Mark (Diane) Sharrock, of Ada; grandson, Travis (Samantha) Hull; granddaughters, Joey (Jason) Campbell, Crystal (Brett) Badertscher, Alison (Charles) Mosler, Jennifer (Joseph) Navarro, Bethany Sharrock, Rachel Sharrock; great-grandchildren, Xavier Navarro, Will Mosler, Ethan Hull, Brandon Hull, Keagan Hull, Wyatt Badertscher, Ella Badertscher; sister, Marjorie Dreher, of West Lafayette, Ohio.
 
A funeral was held Monday, June 14, at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Chuch, Bluffton. Rev. Dick Potter and Rev. Charles Warren officiated. Visitation was Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette, Ohio.

Marjorie Anne Davis

Marjorie Anne Davis, 84, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Arlington Good Samaritan Center in Arlington.
 
She was born March 5, 1926 in Pandora, Ohio to the late Reno J. and Bertha M. (Hochstettler) Oberly. She married Joe S. Davis; he died September 17, 2003.
 
Mrs. Davis retired from Cole Motor Sales, Inc., of Ada, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church and the Junior Civic League of Ada.
 
She is survived by two sons, Terrence D. Davis, of Dalzell, South Carolina, and Timothy J. (Deanna) Davis, of Sterling, Colorado; two brothers, James Oberly, of Bluffton, and Wade Oberly, of Bluffton; three sisters, Dorothy Porter, of Arlington, Bernice Reichenbach, of Bluffton, and Marilyn Schirch, of Fountain Hill, Arizona; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
 
A public memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Pastor Gus Guthrie will officiate.
