Howard Roy Eckenwiler

Howard Roy Eckenwiler, 66, of Beaverdam, died February 27, 2010 at his residence.

Howard was born February 11, 1944 to Roy and Georgene (Bishop) Eckenwiler in Beaverdam. He married Marlene Vorhes in 1991 and she survives.

Howard retired from Consolidated Biscuit, McComb. He was a member of American Legion Post #382, Bluffton. He was a 1962 graduate and valedictorian of Beaverdam High School.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Eckenwiler, of Beaverdam, stepdaughter, Michelle (Frank) Diaz, of Anderson, Ind.; stepson, Michael Thompson, of Anderson, Ind.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Carol Sue Hefner, of Spencerville, and Sally (Leonard) Dunahay, of Beaverdam; brothers, John Eckenwiler, of Beaverdam, and Vern Eckenwiler, of Beaverdam.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home in Bluffton. Pastor Michael Downey officiated. Visitation was Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. ad 6 to 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Burial was at Woodland Cemetery in Beaverdam.
