Members of the Bluffton University football team exchanged their pads for paintbrushes on Saturday morning, April 17.
From 8 a.m. until noon, nearly 70 Bluffton players and coaches helped paint classroom walls at Bluffton Child Development Center, 325 County Line Road. The group also completed gardening and landscaping work around the facility.
“It was wonderful!” said Mary Painter, director of Bluffton Child Development Center. “It’s really great for young people to be out doing nice things around town. We are very appreciative to the football team, coaches, and Bluffton Child Development Center board member, Brian Myers, for organizing it.”
This is the second year that head coach Tyson Veidt has found an opportunity for his team to assist nonprofit partners in Bluffton. The players gave back to the community, where they spend much of the year, while engaging in team-building activities.
