Allen County Engineers poster contest

Three second grade students from Bluffton Elementary won a poster contest sponsored by the Allen County Engineers.

 

The second graders were asked to draw a picture of an engineer working on a project. The three winners were Annalise Nisly (1^st place), Danielle Novak (2^nd place) and Ben Baxter (third place). Congratulations to all winners. 

 

In January, Allen County Engineers Nathan Davis and Scott Little spoke to each of the second grade classes. They read a book to the student, Not All Engineers Drive Trains and explained the different opportunities available for engineers. Civil engineers, chemical engineers and mechanical engineers were just a few of the different jobs discussed. As a challenge, the visiting engineers gave the students a piece of paper and several small washers with the task of creating a bridge that would hold the washers.
