42nd Annual Bluffton Arts and Crafts Show Slated for May 11

One of the annual area events that is most looked forward to is the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Arts & Crafts Show. Each May the streets of downtown Bluffton are filled with vendors from near and far who show off their hand-made merchandise such as soaps and lotions, jewelry, bird feeders, towels, aprons and wood carvings. The 42nd annual Bluffton Arts and Crafts Show is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s event will have many familiar features, as well as two new ones. As usual, the Bluffton Farmers’ Market will be held in the Citizens National Bank parking lot from 8 a.m. till noon. There will also be Bluffton food vendors and free musical entertainment. The arts & crafts show also has many activities to keep children happy and busy. There will be Hickle Pony Rides, the Hard Rock Llama exhibit and the Pumpkin Vine Railroad.
New at this year’s festival will be a community health fair on Cherry Street and a bike rodeo on Church Street. Additional information will be released about these two new additions to the crafts show at a later date.
On the day of the show, vendors may begin setting up their booths at 6:00 a.m. Vehicles need to be off the streets at 8:45 a.m. With 110 booths available (booths are 15 feet across by 10 feet deep), the event is expected to line Main Street from Town Hall to about Franklin Street.
Vendor booths for the arts & crafts show are still available on a first-come, first-served basis. From now until May 1 vendors may register for a booth for $40. After May 1st the booth registration fee will increase in price to $60. Vendors who have a preference of which booth they are assigned should register early to have the best chance of receiving that booth area. Over 50 vendors have already pre-registered. There is no alternative rain date or facility planned and refunds will not be provided if bad weather forces the cancellation of this year’s event.
